Delegates have 21 working days to lodge an appeal against the decision. Providing the delegate has given permission and Target Zero are informed, a third party can appeal on their behalf. If an employer is appealing on behalf of the appellant, they must have written permission from the appellant concerned as grades / results can go down as well as up as a result of an investigation.
An Appeals Form must be requested from Target Zero and once completed is to be emailed back to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wherever possible, Target Zero will try to resolve disputes before they reach an appeal stage. In the first instance, the appeal will be investigated to review the original evidence and referring to relevant quality assurance documentation and information we will reconsider the decision. Results of the investigation will be emailed to the appellant within 21 working days in writing. The appellant may be asked to produce further information. The decision will be further reviewed by the Head of Centre and the result provided to the appellant in writing within 14 days. If the appellant remains dissatisfied, they have 14 working days to go to Final Arbitration with the Awarding Organisation regarding the appeal process.
Should the appellant be unhappy with the finding following our exhaustive appeal procedure, they can contact the Awarding Organisation who will review the processes that Target Zero have gone through when dealing with the appeal and the decisions that have been made to ensure that Target Zero have followed procedures, and that the conclusion is reasonable.
The appeal will normally take place within 10 working days of receipt, although this period may be extended due to the complexity. Until the EQA Team of the Awarding Organisation has reviewed the appeal, the original result will remain unchanged. All of the evidence will be reviewed (no additional evidence will be looked at other than that provided originally). Following the review, the appellant will be informed of the outcome of their independent review and the decision will be final.
If required, for the full detailed version of the Appeals Process, please email: email@example.com
