What is the Online SSSTS Refresher Course?
The CITB Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Refresher course is designed for those who are approaching the end of their five year SSSTS certificate and need to renew their certificate for another five years.
The Online SSSTS Refresher course will help keep you updated with the latest legislation and guidance for onsite safety. Construction legislation for health and safety is constantly updating so this course will provide you with up to date information to allow you to perform your supervisor role efficiently.
You will cover areas such as your role as a supervisor, the UK legal system, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, risk assessment procedures, working at height, occupational health, construction regulations, reporting of injuries and Toolbox Talks.
Once you have completed the refresher course, your certificate will be extended for another five years. You will need to complete the course ahead of the expiry of your current SSSTS certificate otherwise you would need to complete the 2 day SSSTS course again.
Is the Online SSSTS Refresher Course Different?
When you do the SSSTS refresher online, you will experience it just as you would in the classroom. It is presented in real-time live via Zoom from one of our experienced tutors with many years of industry background.
You will be joined by other people on the course, and you will be able to ask questions and take part in classroom discussions and group activities. Exams are 30 minutes and are completed through an online form while you are monitored on camera by the Trainer. Whether you want to complete your course at home, at work, in a café or elsewhere all you need is a computer or laptop, good internet connection, camera and microphone.
CERTIFICATE:
The certificate lasts 5 years, this refresher course needs to be completed before the existing certificate expires. Alternatively, the delegate may look to book a SMSTS course with Target Zero. The CITB certificate takes 2 – 3 weeks and will be emailed to you.
Book Your Place On Our SSSTS Online Refresher Course
Once you have booked online you will be emailed Joining Instructions, confirming the course details. Before booking, please note that you need to have adequate IT skills and a laptop or computer which has a working microphone and camera (not an IPad or mobile phone).
We ask you to complete an Initial Assessment via a link that is emailed to you. It is a CITB requirement that all delegates have a sufficient level and understanding of English to take the course.
You will receive an email with the Zoom link to the course at 6pm the evening before the course start date. Check your Junk folder and if it has not been received by 8.15am, call us on 0333 444 0018. We recommend downloading Zoom before the course via Google Chrome.
We ask you to log on at 8am to ensure that you don’t have any problems connecting to Zoom. The course starts at 8.30am.
There will be a link in the Joining Instructions for you to complete the Delegate Information Form before attending the course which is a mandatory CITB requirement.
Confirmation of your result will be emailed shortly following the course completion.
The certificate will be emailed within 2 to 3 weeks after the course completion.
