Environmental impacts are inevitable in construction work. From adjacent neighbours, noise pollution and nature disturbances, there are many effects on the environment, both on a local and a global scale. But it doesn’t need to be this way. Construction companies have the opportunity to make a difference and manage their impact on the environment. One of the best ways to be more aware is to invest in a CITB SEATS course.
What is the CITB Site Environmental Awareness training course?
The CITB Site Environmental Awareness training course provides a comprehensive introduction to environmental issues on construction sites. It has been designed to start with the basics and provide entry-level environmental knowledge that sub-contractors should be aware of. The course will teach all delegates to identify both:
• the environmental impacts of their work
• improvement opportunities including how to control and minimise the impact on the environment.
Who is the course aimed at?
The CITB SEATS course is designed for any member of construction site staff with managerial or supervisory responsibilities. For example, the following team members will benefit from a SEATS qualification:
• site managers
• site supervisors
• site foreman
• site agents
• anyone with design or purchasing responsibilities.
What are the main benefits of taking the course?
The CITB course covers the following essential topics:
• the significance and importance of the environment
• a key understanding of Environmental Management Systems
• site waste management
• prevention of pollution and water management
• use of energy and resources
• defining what ‘responsible contractor’ and ‘good neighbour’ means
• understanding statutory nuisance, communications, archaeology, and heritage.
How can you take the course?
Course delegates can take the CITB SEATS course from one of our training centres, where you’ll take part in classroom-based activities before taking your end of program assessment.
For your convenience, we offer an alternative route to certification by taking our 1-day CITB SEATS online course. This is a virtual course delivered by Zoom from the comfort of your own home or remote office environment.
Delegates will be led by our experienced course tutor in a variety of group activities and tutorials. You will be expected to take part in all elements of the program before taking your course assessment.
How does course qualification work?
Target Zero offers a wide range of classroom-based and online courses and each concludes with an end of program assessment. This is delivered in multiple choice format to assess your understanding of the course materials throughout your training. If you score more than 72%, you will have passed the training and will be awarded with a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate. This is valid for 5 years from the date of your course. Target Zero also offers refresher training courses when you want to update your skills and qualifications closer to your certification expiry date.
